Clay Shaw (1913-1974)

The only person to be accused (and acquitted) following Kennedy’s assassination, Shaw is a retired U.S. Army major. He will be decorated by three countries (United States, Belgium, France) for his wartime accomplishments. By creating the International Trade Mart, he became an influent businessman in New Orleans, capitalizing on his mastery of logistics and transportation, as well as on the fact that he spoke Spanish and French. Jim Garrison claimed he worked for the CIA, but in actual fact he simply volunteered information on his travels abroad to the agency, as did over 150 000 Americans at the time. He allegedly dealt with Jack Ruby to smuggle arms to anti Castro organizations and it is also a known fact that he twice flew to Montreal on an unregistered flight in a plane piloted by David Ferrie. He died of cancer in 1974.
